Understand Healthy Portions

Use Your Eyes

Take a look at your plate. If it looks crowded, re-think the size of the portions you've been given.

Ideally, for healthy portions, do the following:

  • Fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables. Use as many different kinds as you like
  • Fill a quarter of the plate with a lean, low-fat protein such as fish or poultry
  • Fill the remaining quarter with a healthy whole-grain pasta or brown rice
